The school was last inspected in December 2008. The school received a 'good' grade overall; the following aspects were judged to be outstanding:

The care. guidance and support for pupils

Personal development and weelbeing of children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (Reception)

Welfare of children in the EYFS

 

All other aspects of the school were graded 'good'

 

In its Church School Inspection (Jan 2009), the school was judged to be outstanding in all three aspects:

Meeting the needs of all learners

The impactof collectiveworship on the school community

The effectiveness of the leadership and management of the school as a church school.

 

As a result: 'The distinctiveness and effectiveness of St Michael's Primary School as a Church of Emgland school are outstanding'
