Music Tuition

We are very keen to promote music and performance throughout the school. As a large school we can offer children from Y3 upwards music tuition in a wide range of instruments, including: guitars; keyboards; violins; flute; recorder; clarinet; brass; drums; harmonica. (Please note: music tuition costs are charged to parents, usually around £45 per term)

There are regular opportunities for children to perform in front of parents and in the Church.

Music Workshops

Every year St Michaels arranges a number of musical workshops

Year 4

Brass: currently Y4 have a whole class brass lesson every week, where each child has their own instrument.

Year 4 Singing (Term 1)

In the past other year groups have enjoyed:

Samba (Y6)

Year 5 and 6 Orchestra Project with the Western Philharmonic Orchestra (WEPO)

  Performances

We aim to give children the opportunity during the year to perform in front of their parents (and each other).

These performances are always very well-supported, and give children their first taste of performance.
